Time & Location
About the Event
The Czech Republic’s Aero Vodochody AEROSPACE, the world’s premier manufacturer of light military jets, is teaming with Utah’s Borsight Inc. to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in which they agree to work together to offer the most advanced candidate for the USAF’s Light Attack Aircraft (LAA) program. Aero Vodochody is offering an evolution of the venerable L-39 light jet of which more than 3,000 have been produced for more than 45 military customers worldwide. The L-39 has accumulated more than 5,000,000 flight hours. The American built variant, known as the OA-39, is powered by Williams International’s FJ-44-4M turbofan engine, a state of the art power plant that offers customers fuel efficiency, low maintenance, and high reliability. Borsight will provide a fully integrated cockpit with the most advanced airborne processor available. Final assembly of the aircraft will be accomplished at Borsight’s facility at the Ogden-Hinkley Airport, which will grow six-fold to 256,000 square feet. In addition, Borsight’s supplier base employment is expected to grow by over 185 new jobs.
